The inaugural meeting of the 2011-2013 programs and activities of North America- Europe Diocese Yuvajana Sakhyam was held on 23rd July, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Marthoma church of NJ, Randolph. Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa, the president of Marthoma Yuvajana Sakhyam inaugurated the programs by lighting the lamp. Vicars and Yuvajana Sakhyam members from different regions attended the meeting. Marthoma church of NJ, Yuvajana Sakhyam was honored to host this event.
The meeting started with the worship service, which was led by South East Region. Rev. Jose Abraham T., the vice president of Diocese Yuvajana Sakhyam presided the meeting. Mr. John Varghese, the Secretary of Diocese Yuvajana Sakhyam welcomed every one who attended the meeting. Mr. Reji Joseph, Center A Secretary delivered the vote of thanks. Meeting concluded with a prayer by Rev. Benjamin George, the president of North East Region Yuvajana Sakhyam.
During his presidential address, Rev. Jose Abraham mentioned that the Yuvajana Sakhyam is an organization that keeps the motherland close to our hearts, with all its nostalgic feelings. Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa delivered an educative message on “The Reformation in Marthoma church”. His Grace also encouraged the parents to bring the children to the worships and he explained the importance of teaching the mother tongue of the parents to the children. There was also an open discussion forum, where the attendees were able to ask questions to the Thirumeni. Rev. Baby John, the Center A Yuvajana Sakhyam President, Mr. Binu C. Thomas, the Yuvajana Sakhyam Assembly member and Mr. Babu Varghese, the North East Region Yuvajana Sakhyam Vice President, delivered the felicitation messages.
During this meeting, Mr. Santhosh Abraham, the Yuvadhara Chief Editor, handed over the first copy of Yuvadhara for this year to Thirumeni for the release. Rev. M.S. Daniel, the vicar of St. Peter’s church received the first copy. The meeting turned out to be a musical afternoon with the magnificent choirs led by St. Peters Marthoma Church Yuvajana Sakhyam, Staten Island Marthoma church Yuvajana Sakhyam and Marthoma Church of New Jersey Yuvajana Sakhyam. Mrs. Elizabeth Reji George served as the master of ceremony for this meeting. This was a memorable event for Marthoma church of New Jersey Yuvajana Sakhyam and to the other sakhas who attended the meeting. We bow our heads to thank God for being honored to host this event.
