A warm reception was arranged for Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Barnabas Thirumeni, The Bishop of The Adoor-Mavelikera Diocese, on July 23, 2011 at The New Jersey Mar Thoma Church, in Randolph, NJ. The reception was succeeded by The Holy Qurbana. The parish vicar, Rev. Jose T. Abraham, extended a hearty welcome to Thirumeni, who visited the parish for the very first time. Jose Achen, specifically outlined Thirumeni’s vibrant personality in regards to his devotion for his people and the Word of the God.
The accountant, Mr. George Varughese, described the various activities that Thirumeni launched and guided throughout his years of service in The Mar Thoma Church and beyond. His involvement in the activities of The Mar Thoma Youth Members, illustrates a bright future for The Mar Thoma Church.
During his Reply Message, Thirumeni reiterated the very fact that fellowship, prayer, Holy Communion and worship can only be strengthened through the inspiration received from a Christian family background.
Ms. Raina Samuel, a Youth Member of The New Jersey Mar Thoma Church, was honored with a plaque for the publication of her very first novel, "Skull and Bones: A Pirate's Odyssey”. Thirumeni officially launched the redesigned website of The New Jersey Mar Thoma Church. The church choir sang many beautiful songs to commemorate the joyous occasion.
Ms. Tiji Thomas and Ms. Sharon Alexander acted as the Masters of Ceremony for the event. The skit and action song of The Sunday School students were marvelous. The meeting was adjudicated with the prayer of Mr. M.C. Jacob. The Parish Secretary, Mr. Alex Mathew, extended the Vote of Thanks.
