Overview
"Do not let anyone treat you as if you are unimportant because you are young. Instead, be an example to the believers with your words, your actions, your love, your faith, and your pure life." (1 Timothy 4:12)
NJMTC’s Youth Fellowship known as “Youth Alive” has 60 members who are active and zealous for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our main goal is to be united as one and to continuingly grow in our relationships with one another and most importantly our relationship with God.
We have had many events since the start of the New Year. We hosted and attended the Combined Southeast Region Center A Holy Communion Services that our Youth Chaplain Rev Dr. Joe Joseph conducts. We have active participation from St. Peters, St. Stephens, Staten Island and Tabor Marthoma Churches.
We hold Praise Nights that are conducted by Youth Alive. It is nights of Praise and Worship and fellowship with one another. Church members were also welcomed to participate with us and it is always a huge blessing.
We have set up a Big Brother/Big Sister program where the older youth will be big brothers/sisters to the younger youth and have little brothers/sisters. This is a great way to engage the younger youth with the older youth and for the older youth to always be there for their little’s.
We conducted the Spring One Day Southeast Regional Conference on April 23rd, 2011. Our theme was “God’s Calling” A man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps Prov.16:9. We were blessed to have more than 200 participants come out from the Southeast Region as well as the Northeast Region. Our guest speaker was Rev. Jacob David.
We conduct Outreach events such as volunteering with the Hillside Food Bank, Habitat and local nursing homes.
We hold Bible studies every 3rd Saturday of every month at a youth member’s house. We then do fun activities afterwards!
We are excited for our summer plans of Youth Pride Day, future hangouts and our annual Youth Retreat!
We thank God for our wonderful and amazing Youth League!
