BEING GOD’S PEOPLE IN GOD’S WORLD

We, the Sunday School teachers here at the New Jersey Mar Thoma Church, consider it a joy and privilege to serve and pray for our next generation. We aim to provide a positive and godly influence for our kids with the ultimate intention of leading them toward the place where they will, of their own accord, give their hearts to Jesus Christ, develop a personal relationship with Him and live a fruitful and productive Christian life.

The teachers in our Sunday School are committed to supporting parents in raising children that know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.  We believe we can do this by infusing them with faith during this crucial stage of their lives and by helping them connect biblical principles to their everyday lives.

We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings in 1980.  Back then, we had a small Sunday School with a handful of students.  After having moved several times since then, from the Goodwill Mission Chapel in Newark to the Christ Episcopal Church in Glen Ridge to the the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Newark, we finally settled at our current location in Randolph.  Over the years we’ve had many wonderful, dedicated Sunday School teachers to whom we are truly grateful.  Today we have a total of 73 children and 15 teachers

Our Sunday School follows the Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam curriculum that was developed for the Diocese of North America and Europe. Additionally, students in Grades 5 through 10 learn about the faith and practices of the Mar Thoma Church using the book “The Mar Thoma Church: Our Foundation and Vision”.
